A 10:16 Man is:

controlled, calculated, emotionally intelligent, engaged in family and community, is dangerous and kind.  He is a shepherd, a warrior and a king.

As rates of suicide, depression, and other mental health issues rise, and responsibility, accountability, masculinity and purpose decline, we invite men to explore the soft and hard traits of man; how to engage in community, be a shepherd, warrior and king, lead, follow, debate, manage stress, be confident and take control of your life, and live it with purpose.

I want to leave this world knowing that I left it all on the court/field/mats. I want to seek and love the Lord with all I have, love and lead my wife and kids, serve my community, and put out worthwhile content to you. My shepherding experience is in the area of walking alongside boys/men. I will go to battle as a warrior for boys/men. My legacy as a king will be “hell no” I won’t let this evil persist in my kingdom. Learn more about my “hell no.”

10:16 origin

Matthew 10:16 says, “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.” -NKJV. Therefore texts always give me pause. There is a hard and a soft side expressed in this text. Understand the dark side, yet, be light. As I dig into where we are missing our boys, I find it in our culture’s inability to wrestle with the ambivalent nature of boys and later men. There is one group saying men should strip away anything “masculine.” The other group is saying you can’t show a soft or gentle side. How confusing it must be for boys? I want to fight for the hole boy/man.
